Dear Applicant,
As we indicated mid-year, we would continue to offer updates on our manpower requirements to those pilots in our talent pool. The good news is that we have been steadily employing pilots from the talent pool over the past few months as our manpower requirements for 2013 become clearer. To give you some indication of our hiring trends for the coming 12 months, we will see an easing of the requirement for Second Officers, there is likely to be no further recruitment of Fast Track Second Officers, a reduced requirement also for First Officers and an increasing requirement for direct entry Captains, particularly those who qualify for wide body aircraft command. It remains our intention to draw the majority of these requirements from the existing talent pool members.
You will also have noticed that we have launched a new candidate management system that means you will not be able access your original application. Your original application is still held by us and we will continue to use it as our pilot talent pool database. Occasionally we will place specific pilot vacancies on our website careers section for limited periods, only if we need to supplement the talent pool in areas where we may have a shortage; otherwise all manpower requirements for the next year will be drawn from the talent pool. Additional good news is that we have eased some of the training limitations we have faced this year and expect to be able to move new joiners through their training at a much faster rate.
Our next update will be sent to you in February 2013 and I expect that some of you will begin to receive joining dates for next year between now and then. Once again we thank you for your patience and continued interest in joining the Qatar Airways Flight Deck team.
