Question about Pilots changing airlines within Europe

(I hope this is the proper forum to pose this question and if it is not, please move to the suitable forum.)

I was recently told that if an EASA licensed pilot (working for an European Airline) is to move to an another European based airline, he/she has to go through the complete aircraft type training course to fly the same type of aircraft in the second airline instead of just a transition training.

The reason given is that EASA regulations require a complete type rating training for operating under different Air Operator Certificates (AOC) even if it is the same aircraft type.

I am unable to verify this in the mountain of bureaucratic language in the EASA website (or I am looking in all the wrong places). I would deeply appreciate for any informed views on this subject.
