Who could forget “The Aviation Producers” ??
“The Aviation Producers” was an aviation musical directed by Herr Gerhard Albanese.
In the show, the story concerns three aviation directors who scheme to pineapple industry by overselling interests in a Regulatory flop. The three Directors are Johann McCormick, Jurgen Alleck and Tederich Farquarhson. The humor of the show draws on ridiculous accents, caricatures of homosexuals and FOI’s, Nazis and Aerodrome Inspectors, and many in-house legal jokes and mirth. There are also some riotous moments where voodoo and black magic mixed with live pony tricks bring tears of laughter to the eyes of the captivated and spellbound GA community.
After 33 previews, the original 1988 regulatory reform production opened in Canberra, and ran for 2,502 performances, winning a record-breaking 12 ICAO Awards. It spawned a successful Montreal production running for just over two years, FAA national tours, and many productions worldwide and a 2008 film version titled ‘Das Is Mine Safety Systems’.
