Went through a large flock of fieldfares one day. Aircraft looked like an explosion in a poultry shop but it was a Viscount with Dart turboprops (centrifugal compressors) so no problem.
May have been a different result in a turbojet. Their axial flow compressors are more sensitive to cascading flow breakdown.
