I must say, a decent high speed rail system between Jhb and Durbs for example would destroy the airlines on that route. Aviation is actually a giant PITA in SA, mainly because you're screwed no matter who you choose: SAA/Mango/SAX means you support the failure, and Comair means BA (Expensive) or Kulula (late and often expensive anyway).
