In the UK at least It's courteous to keep the landline for incoming calls.
Yes, but it doesn't need to be a landline.... it can be a number provisioned on a VoIP service that you can connect multiple devices too and have them ring simultaneously (e.g. desk phone, laptop softphone, app on mobile phone etc)
