A full ILS has lights as a component

but in the US if the ''lights'' are out of service, the ILS may be used with higher minimums.

the lads talking about Boston are quite right about 27...was based there for awhile.


the real out of the world situation is to be landing at a field with pilot controlled lighting, right down to minimums and to find the lights didn't work when you get to DH
