I don't quite understand why Bristow would do this either. I would have thought that working hard and living cheap for years to save money, then give up everything you have to go back to student life, then give them 12-15 months of training and test + possibly a year as an instructor where they get to evaluate you quite thoroughly, should be enough to determine whether you are a suitable candidate or not.
But maybe that's just me...
