I would like to explain my failings in not keeping up (which I do not contest) because I am pretty sure that Sir Clive was DCINC and then went on to be CINC replacing (I think) a chap called French. Senior officer turn over, you understand, being a true highlight of my time at HW - which was in itself a career highlight.
Still - appears I'm not alone in my ignorance.
