If you talk to the Volvo drivers, most are upset that they cannot transfer to the bus driving fleet as not only are the working hours and salary better, but they receive an allowance for loading the cabin crew suitcases. Two different companies so no transfer prospects. If pilots bother converse with the drivers on occasions, some have interesting stories to tell of a wholly different struggle with Dubai life. Amazes me that some feel this is beneath them to engage with the drivers. ( Apologies for thread creep.)
Made me laugh to see one skipper a few years ago wanting to file a report with FDM Jacquie because his driver didn't carry and load his suitcase into the trunk without being asked....
...and before you all assume which part of the world he was from, he was in fact a Western European.
