I think sin/cos is the simplest, the calculator has to do the job.

sin of (wind direction - runway heading) x wind speed for crosswind

cos of (wind direction - runway heading) x wind speed for head/tail wind


Runway 32 wind from 280 at 15kts

crosswind 9,64kts

headwind 11,5kts
