The Chad government Beech 1900D TT-ABB suffered a landing mishap at Bir Kalait "airfield" (an unprepared desert strip) last week with President Idriss Deby and entourage on board. It appears the aircraft touched down early on rough ground before the runway, shearing off the landing gear. All prop blades separated, some impacting and entering cabin. No injuries reported.
Tongue in cheek remark: it would be interesting to see the media coverage if Air Force One blotched a landing, shorn off the gear and came to rest on its belly with the President on board...
