Thanks for the advice, I simply want to do an aircraft type-rating with simuflight in Joburg. I thought I would have to get an SA validation or convert the licence but they have advised that if the FAA give a letter of permission to train there, then I don't need to do anything and can simply do the rating using my FAA ATP which would be an infinitely simpler process. Hopefully the 8710 form you refer to might cover. Cheers Fellas
