Maybe Prof Fels just realised that if AN goes under then QF will be the only MAJOR airline in Australia, and if QF buys AN than QF will still be the only MAJOR airline in Australia.
Same result, but about 15000 jobs in the balance, which would you choose?
PS The implications for Australia would not be completely different from Canada when Air Canada took over Canadian would it?
