Buy "The Compleat Taildragger Pilot" (yes, that is how he has spelt complete...) by Harvey Plouarde and read the relevant sections.
Tail wheel training these days is rarely comprehensive enough to make you competent, even safe in some cases, to go out on your own in all conditions. That book will tell you why and how to get the most from your training.
