He also says that Cork hopes to secure a transatlantic service by 2015.
If thats a concern of his then I think somebody else needs the job. He should be more concerned with the lack of routes to Europe. I don't get the need for a US link from ORK, NOC as well as UK regional airports. Who does he expect to operate it and where will the demand come from. Our economy won't be much better in 2015 and charters is he for real?
Delta - Dublin, seasonal Shannon (I wonder if DL will still be at SNN in 2015)
United - Dublin, Shannon and Belfast (Could possibly see Belfast dropped)
US Airways - Dublin, left SNN
American - almost to the wall...
Aer Lingus - Not a chance and can only make seasonal SNN work
Also there will be a major improvement in train times between Cork-Dublin from early January which won't help which will make Dublin Airport much close for passengers going to US.
As for growth in 2013 where will that come from, has he airlines lined up to dilever it? I can't see growth in 2013 unless something is to be announced.
He realy needs to change his objectives and come back down to earth IMO.
