It is hard to ever see the DAA conceding a transatlantic service to Cork if it can get away first with keeping such a service at Dublin Airport. No, I think today's reported comments by Cork Airport's new boss are baloney are only handy sound bites for the press and others who dont have a clue how Irish state airports tick. You can see how meaningless the new man's remarks are when the idea of a charter series first to America is suggested which can only be described as stupid in my opinion.
I think Cork had and missed it's chance at an American service.
More in their line to try and get BA back from Heathrow - it would at least be a soundly based idea and would also help to get some British tourists and business fares back into the Cork area which would help to boost the local economy.
