As you can tell by now, some people are out to get you while others will lend a helping hand. There are a lot of bungholes in the industry, but there are also very many great people who enjoy what they do.
Personally I think this is a good time to start flight training, and by the time you`re ready to start applying for flying jobs there should be somewhat of an upturn - Lesson 1: There are no guarantees
Try to get in touch with a lot of other pilots. It`s all about who you know... that`s what could help you land a job.
