you could also look at it another way if like some of us you were told you would receive your result but a certain date but don't then your lack of contact could be seen as a lack of commitment. In NATS own literature they have us learn, it says they have a very open reporting policy, so maybe they would want to know that you would question something that goes against what you have been told?

Honestly i think it wouldn't really matter either way they care about our ability to do the job at the end of the day.
