Irrespective of the operator, it's a tragedy when colleagues in aviation face an uncertain future. It's understandable that we should feel some relief when a competitor falls over as that makes us just that little bit more secure but unbridled joy that others are now out of a job and facing an uncertain future to pay their mortgages is particularly nasty.
So by all means be happy that perhaps this decision (if it pans out) is a good commercial one for Qantas. Be happy that perhaps it may mean expansion. Please though don't take any joy that some people will be out of a job and looking at a very uncertain future.
