Leave yourself a lot of time, there's only one road in and out of Whiteley and it's busy. If you're coming East down the M27 from the M3 then there's usually around 3/4 of a mile of traffic queuing in the inside lane to come off at that junction and you can expect similar on the Westbound side as well.
If it's the Premier Inn by J9 then you'll miss of that traffic although you'd want to be leaving at least half an hour, probably a bit more. If you get there early, then read a book
