Something like a Hall of Fame would not be out of place.

AFAP management certainly attracted some memorable blokes.

The late Don Grey of the Chandos Street, Sydney office is another deserving of a degree of immortalisation, in the annals anyway. Don's send-off coincided with an executive meeting. At an evening fairly informal function, Dick Holt presented Don with the gold watch. Next morning at 0900 the exec got underway, but no Don. His chair at the top table was unfilled till about 0930.

Don walked into the room, stood behind his chair and made his apology to the chair. Doing so he shook his wrist vigorously, held his new watch up to his ear, saying. "I am sorry Mr Chairman. Seems this damn watch is running slow."

And going way way back to the origins of the pilots' efforts to band together and have an organisied say in disputes with airline bosses, you'll find names like Harry Purvis, on the very first committee in Melbourne, when F/Os were without a windscreen wiper due to to the tight arsedness of Ivan Holyman. Read all about it in Harry's book 'Outback Airman'.
