Terry was truly one of the most reasonable union guys I have ever dealt with. I had one occasion as a management representative dealing with a situation by a group of pilots (I think it was some quite unreasonable demand over seniority), that had the situation continued would have led to the closure of the business.
The pilots called in the AFAP.... Management and pilots presented for the mediation.... However before the mediation got under way Terry came and saw us and asked if we minded going home for the day.... "trust me" he said!
24 hours later the problem was sorted. To this day I don't know what happened or what was said, but the problem was fixed and never reappeared.
A truly remarkable man!
