Ctlers basically will apologize to crew if a legitimate error was
committed. I have done that on some occassions.
In this case the pilot transmitting the announcement is not aware
that he is jamming the frequency. Its only when he stops and becomes aware
when told either by the Ctler or some other crew.
In todays case a number of pilots were trying to advise the guy that he is on a wrong channel but didnt succeed to get through.
Yes I know it is a
faux pas but what I am trying to get through is the severity to safety in a Approach Environment where aircraft are descending and climbing through levels within a 40 mile radius.
