They are Wright Cyclones on the DC-3, still in place when it was at Big Mac.
Two other ASA 3s were used in WA for MMA in early '70s, I had the dubious pleasure of flying both, one giving us a spectacular failure at Roebourne with a section of the front dome missing, overspeed propellor etc.
VERY noise producing as against the P&Ws of MMA.
