If two radials sound nice, then four must be better (and it was)

This photo demonstrates the limitations confronting the amateur photographer at that time. Film was expensive so extreme economy was enforced, and fixed focus lenses were the order of the day. This time the aircraft was too close to fit in the frame so it was necessary to click on what one was offered.
In this respect it's easier these days, memory cards are inexpensive and zoom lenses are standard. The downside is that it can be very difficult to get relatively unfettered photographic access to aircraft as one did then. We still keep trying however ....
