I popped into the Breachwood Green master plan exhibition tonight. It was great fun listening to the complaining locals who have bought houses at the end of the runway moan about aircraft noise.
Anyway I was chatting to a person in the know and he told be what was planned in phase one and what was not:
Work that IS Not in phase one is as follows:
Extending the taxiway at the 26 end.
Taxiway Foxtrot
Extending the south apron westwards
Multi-storey car park
Work that IS included:
Duelling of the approach road.
Extending the taxiway at the 08 end
Extending the south apron eastward
Remarking of the 6 pack eastern apron to create 8 stands with a slight increase in the apron size
Stands 16 and 17 to be handed back by Signature and remarked
Terminal to be redeveloped and expanded.
New pier for the south side of the eastern apron with a total of 5 new contact stands.
Work should start next winter and take 2 years to complete.
