I`ve looked at these packages several times, but they are unrealistic imo. No commuting, extensive hoop jumping and a poor living environment are the deal breakers.
Experienced pilots usually have families and the idea that we would uproot four or five people and travel six thousand miles for a position that is likely to last no more than one to five years is just silly.
Forty years old, Captain, Full FAA, full JAA quals- I`m more than happy to submit the p/w for a validation and take a standard medical. I`m not happy to faff around for several months sitting exams, "training" my body for, what is apparently, an absurdly detailed medical check (more rigorous than the OASC initial I understand) or suffering the indignities of old school check rides.
I`ve picked this up skimming several forums and PMs, but if any western European pilots would care to provide another perspective here or by PM, I for one would be grateful. The stories so far have been overwhelmingly negative.
