If you can afford to live on the despicable low wages then it's still a great job in terms of places to go and people to fly with, high operating standard, living the "long haul" dream and all that. But the SO package is truly appallingly bad for an expensive place like HK.
If you are single and like eating pot noodles and sharing a tiny flat with your mates, then rip into it my son!
If, however, you have a better half who likes shopping, or kids that might need an international school or something in the next few years, then think very hard and budget very very carefully.
Shame that CX has come to this, in the 60s and 70s it was THE gold plated standard of all great airline jobs
