If your talking rotary pretty sure you would be able to find work with that experience. Plenty of the chopper pilots I have met flying to the offshore oil and gas rigs have previous military experience.
As for the airliner world things are depressing as Falck clearly points out. I am unsure how airliners look at and value previous rotory experience.
