Faster performance
I finally lost patience with the dongle USB hub hanging off my ATX, went into Figueras and bought a four socket USB-2 card and installed it in the back of my PC after lunch. (Not that lunch had anything to do with it, I just kind of threw it in to set the scene). So now I have...er...10 sockets for peripherals (keyboard, mouse, printer, SKYPE phone, Kindle, UPS, webcam, er...and some other things).
Screwed lid back on, fired up The Box and it worked perfectly, but here's the thing: performance seems generally better since I did so, even when doing things that don't involve USB inputs plugged in to the new card. Even the occasional DOS program which I throw at The Box to annoy it, seems faster.
Is this possible, or is it just me.
OFSO, worried, but pleased.
P.S. Only one shandy with lunch, a small one. Well, relatively small.
