I'm more interested in the exit row with the room to stretch my legs out than specifically the 'suicide seat' right on the door (Though my other half would be in the said door seat as she wants window seats as she's a bit of a nervous flyer)
The seats by the door have the slide bustle, so there is less room to stretch out.
As Ernest says, up front is better, and all the Jet2.com B757's have the mod that filters smells out of the fuselage via the outflow valve, so nasty niffs shouldn't be a problem.
