When they closed STN, they put all crews and cabin crew on notice of redundancy while recruiting into all the other bases; they filled most of the positions in other bases and gave the left overs to STN crews. Needless to say, the leftovers weren't exactly appealing, and neither were the 70% contracts offered to previously full-time crews.
