To be fair though EGHQ, SHG didn't just lose interest in Air Southwest, didn't they also manage to lose the huge lump of cash Europe gave them to improve Plymouth Airport and the runway? It probably just fell down the back of the sofa.
I think T3 would have taken ASW on a lot earlier and probably early enough to make a go of it even if it was just out of NQY, if some tool hadn't had the bright idea to delay matters by offering the airline for tender, then having to go back cap in hand to the one person who was interested in taking it on anyway...
