Streaming videos

Having spent a fortune on one of Samsung's new smart TVs, I'm having trouble trying to stream videos/movies from my Macbook pro. I've tried Air Parrot which is supposed to mirror image your screen. It doesn't. It's so slow and jerky that it's impossible to watch a movie. I've tried TVMOBiLi which is similar along with Serviio which won't even open. As I have some mkv movies which produce proper 1080 HD quality I would love to find a DLNA source that will stream these files without problems.

My wifi runs at 7mbps on o2 broadband which isn't too bad. The only reliable way to do it is via itunes and apple tv, but they don't run mkv files.

Any help would be much appreciated.
