Bit harsh?
With respect Mister Geezer, and since you ask, what I think is a bit harsh is skilled, professional and dedicated personnel, who have committments and responsibilities, being forced to take a £5000 drop in salary. They have very little control over the circumstances.
Is this not going the wrong way? Is it not normally the case that people changing jobs want an increase and not a decrease? I can't help thinking that those who do excercise control over these circumstances would not contemplate such a loss for themselves.
