There are no grounds for protest. The solution would be to get PARC and CTC to recognise BALPA and to get the cadets to unite, that way I think better T's and C's could be organised.
I like the idealism. If CTC and Parc recognised BALPA I'm willing to bet the Easyjet Flexi-sh1t contract goes to (insert name of other large FTO and contracting company).
Both CTC and Parc don't give a toss what way pilot T&Cs are heading. Infact they thrive on what is happening now - Agency contracts, temporary positions and high turnovers.
Cadets will NEVER unite. They are generally ill-informed, naive and as someone suggested, part of the 'have it now' generation.
Senior crew will only unite if their own working conditions become unbearable and their bottom line is threatened. A few may huff and puff at council meetings, union committees and indeed pprune, however it generally amounts to the square root of fvck all. Your average Senior Captain/LTC/TRE is so far removed from your average cadet that they may as well live on seperate planets. In other words they don't give a stuff and will not jepordise their position by giving a stuff. Airlines are well aware of how this all works.
