Igwebike was actually working for Bristow Eket at the time and believed rightly or wrongly that his ATP gave him training privileges. Since he had a current NCAA licence including 206 he may have received a clearance to carry out the check. He was on leave at the time of the accident and
AFAIK had no previous experience of carrying out training of any kind
I seem to remember that we had an incident involving a massive overtorque of the main transmission on a 212 shortly before his demise when he and his co pilot denied any knowledge of the event even though the "creep marks" told a very different tale and had been inspected just prior to him taking the helicopter.
This is an old one - SASless me old "cork" are you cleaning out your loft? (or is it Den in your neck of the woods?)
