Original post by Carjockey: What exactly is wrong with having cameras on the engines and other critical parts?
Scratch the cameras on the engines, they are not needed. In fact, they would be of no use whatsoever, especially after dark. The important engine monitoring information is right in front of you and if something goes wrong you can both see it on the gages, or you will get a message and there are then procedures to follow when this happens. Having two cameras looking at 2 engines will not prevent shutdown of the wrong engine. Ascertaining left from right, port from starboard helps to keep from shutting down the good one.
