Hello everyone
In writing my book on Bert Hinkler - FAI gold medal winner 1929 - I visited many of the great aviation museums in the world - RAF Hendon, Brooklands, Smithsonian, RAAF Point Cook, New Zealand Fighter Pilots at Wanaka, Australian War Memorial, Science Museum in London.
I have to say that none surpassed the Hinkler Hall of Aviation in Bundaberg when it came to promoting the legacy of the great aviators of the Golden Age.
If you are ever in Queensland it is a must see museum. It recently acquired Hinkler's Avro Baby in which he set world records in 1920 and 1921. Amazing what he achieved ina tiny machine with less power than a modern motorbike
