It was either 1988 or 1989 that I flew with Monarch on a Boeing 757 from Luton to Orlando. We stopped in Maine north of New York to re-fuel. On the return flight we spent three quarters of an hour flying through severe weather that entailed everyone holding onto their seats as we were violently chucked around! I have to say that generally I do not mind turbulence but when I heard the cabin crew panicking from the aft galley- that was my prompt to start panicking
Let's not forget that Britannia operated Boeing 767's from Luton to New Zealand!
Who knows, just maybe we might pick up some long hauls?
