I don't think I was naive at all because this discussion is about the inflight service, not the ability to change your booking at short notice. Also in relation to the punters sitting up the front I would suggest that the majority...if not all have someone else paying for the ticket (me included). Having said that you do find over the christmas period that flights are so full that "Exec" might be the only option available if you need to travel at short notice.

Secondly Momo suggests that EI cabin crew always offer a second drink. In my experience this rarely happens on the DUB-LHR run probably due to the short time in the air. As regards being over the limit I don't think you could sue an airline for negligence because the CC gave you a second drink. It comes down to self control. You can choose not to accept it, or if forced upon you, you can then choose not to drink it.
