Its seems that lifting the mechanism's by accident inst really possibly especially not by someone who has 4000 on type... so that points to the fact it must have been done deliberately??
Not commenting on this pilot directly but some folks have 10,000 hrs and some folks have 1 hour ten thousand times.
So the quality of the knife, not just the age of the knife, is important.
