As someone who was born in Coventry and watched the rise and fall of the airport since the late 60's/early 70's let me assure you that the latest owner is NOT interested in the airport as an airport. He'll bide his time and sell the site off when the time is right to the highest bidder. Who knows what the future holds for Baginton but as an airport, it aint.
I thought the actual land owner was Coventry City Council, but they lease it out... Does this mean the lease owner will have to get agreement from the leaseholder to change its use from an airport to something else?
One of the criticisms of those Enterprise Zones was that businesses would relocate from elsewhere to take advantage of the cheaper rents...
That rusting railway thing is a shocking sight. I wonder if this place will feature in the future of the airport/area in the big plans that have been drawn up?
