You get that in Hong Kong if you happen to be sick during your first 2 weeks of your annual leave for the year. You just have to call CC and let them know so it is documented and you can claim (claw) it back later.
It's part of the Employment Ordinance. Although, it only applies to first 2 weeks of your annual leave because that is the minimum mandatory annual leave entitlement for HK employees. And, HK companies tend to follow the minimum legal requirement even if they are a "Caring Company."
