People in the one hand are saying there is no need for 2 airports in such a short proximity with overlapping markets and in the next breath half of NI cut off from LHR service if EI goes. Although airlines have moved and failed they moved for a reason in the first place otherwise they would have stayed. Airlines have failed at BFS too, wizzair was mentioned as being one just recently. BFS will still have high frequency flights to 4 London airports. Also I think BHD needs a lower fare competitor, look at the effect of FR and WW on passenger numbers, also it should give BE a wake up call.
ESCNI - the communication that came from BHD when the rumour first became public was that EI have commited to a summer schedule at BFS and would only be able to move in winter so unless you are flying to LHR I doubt it will affect you, EI are generally not given over to flipantly swapping and changing airports/schedules.
