It's certainly madness, but nevertheless this could happen to the most prepared pilot as well. What would you do in the same situation?
Can't squawk 7500.
Can't use radio.
Don't know where you are.
Don't know the terrain under the overcast.
No pitot heat in freezing conditions.
Can't get an altimeter setting.
Sun is setting.
Fuel running out.
