There was a recent incident with a C210 engine failure locally, story has it that the new owner read about this LoP thing, figured it was a good plan and ran his TIO520 at 6GPH.... without the benefit of an engine monitor. Seized it solid about 10nm short of the RWY.
This is the photos thread so if you want to start a new one to discuss this furphy further, please do.
At 6GPH the C210 would have been developing 89.4HP and no more.
How does that seize an engine? :roll eyes:
How could he run it without a monitor at 6 GPH anyway? And if it had full MP and RPM and that much fuel flow, it would stop cold.....due lack of fuel not a seizure.
