That is so true. Warwick District Council have always had a down on Coventry having an airport. They have put every possible obstacle in the way. Methinks this goes way back to the days when Coventry was taken out of Warwickshire, with the subsequent loss of revenue to the county.
You mean they hold a grudge for something that happened in 1451?
I get the impression that Warwick would rather Coventry didn't exist.
My solution would be quite simple: make Coventry into the Administrative centre for a new "Coventry and Warwickshire" County. I can imagine that would be deeply unpopular, but would make sense for facilities to be centralised, and would also boost Coventry somewhat. They should have done this in the 1970s rather than creating the 'West Midlands' County.
