I went through the process last June and was successful.

Don't go and blow it by being too relaxed, but I can honestly say that the interview was very pleasant, and it felt as though I had succeeded on the basis of my CV, and they were really just checking the accuracy of some of the details.

There was a quick 25min aptitude test. This consisted of 4 pictures showing some sort of progression, and you had to multi-choice the 5th one. For example the progression might be: one white dot, two black dots, three white dots, four black dots....and the winner is....five white dots....!

As for the interview, I was given 10 mins before I went in to read about a scenario involving being stranded with my crew by an earthquake in San Fran. What would you do? I just embellished the old Protection, Location, Water, Food adage, with a few extra cuddles to keep the crew warm (did I say that out loud?!)

The interview was conducted by a lady from Flt Ops, the HR manager, and the Boeing fleet manager. They were all very friendly.

There were no nasty tech questions, but being less formal than some other airlines' interviews, I'm sure they will/could tailor their questions towards the areas that you may appear weak in on your CV. Be prepared for all the usual:

Why Virgin? What do you like about the company? Would you mind being stuck on the old 747, compared to the shiny new airbus? And be prepared with a couple of questions to ask them.

I downloaded and printed off the wiki entry for Virgin, and googled some news stories for stuff that had happened recently, and that was enough.

But congratulations on getting through to the interview. You're almost there, just wear a nice suit, polish your shoes, brush you hair, turn up in good time, smile a lot and be friendly with everyone you meet. Easy eh?!
